"It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: A Very Sunny
Christmas" is the latest installment of the wildly
popular FX sitcom released on DVD. Action packed with
B&E's, mother hookers, mall Santa assaults, and
child drug use, the Gang is on a mission. Frank (Danny
DeVito) has scarred Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and Dee
(Kaitlin Olson) their entire lives to where they absolutely
loathe Christmas. Determined to make Frank change
his ways in order to actually enjoy the holiday this
go-around, Dee and Dennis take "A Christmas Carol"
approach to wipe out the bah-humbug attitude from
Frank once and for all. In the meantime, Charlie (Charlie
Day) and Mac (Rob McElhenney) are on the path to rediscovery
while rehashing their childhood Christmas memories.
The extras on this DVD are insightful and entertaining
and it's splendid to see the show's director and producer,
Fred Savage ("The Wonder Years") in his
element once again. And click on the "Sunny Sing-A-Long"
for a twisted and demented version of the classic
Christmas carols we all love to hear. As a fan of
the show and the crude and backwards humor that is
"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"
This DVD goes to the top of the queue this holiday
season. Hilariously funny, mildly disturbing and somewhat
offensive is the only way the Paddy's Gang can bring
a little Christmas joy to the holiday season. So Fa,
la, la, la friggin la.
