Audrey Tautou (Coco) stars as one of the most inspirational, iconic women ever to go from rags to riches. The story of Gabrielle Bonheur almost seems like a work of fiction; too incredible to believe. If ever there was a symbol of what hard work and determination can achieve this lady is it.

This French version (with English subtitles) is far above and beyond the TV version released not too long ago. The costumes and imagery capture the era beautifully. Tautou has always been a top notch actress and though not her best role she embodies the spirit needed to portray her character.

It is a must see for those who appreciate a good biopic. Many may shy away from the subtitles but like any foreign language film, once you get into the rhythm you almost don't notice.
