Being a recent college graduate, I can safely say that I'm glad it's over. However, I look back with a bit of regret that I didn't do all the college-y stuff most students do. I didn't stay in a dorm, didn't pledge at a sorority, and didn't go out of state. Heck, I didn't even leave my parents' house. Watching College Road Trip made me appreciate what I have gone through and my parents' support over the past eight years. (Lots of people go to college for eight years!)

Raven-Symone plays over-achieving student named Melanie Porter who is looking forward to a road trip with friends to look at colleges. Martin Lawrence is her over-protective father and the police chief of their small town. In an effort to keep his daughter safe and at a college close to home, the father decides to escort his daughter on her trip.

I've always enjoyed Raven-Symone. She brings a light and energy that makes her enjoyable to watch. Martin Lawrence is funny, but it only when he finally gets serious, that you start to identify with where he's coming from. The story is a predictable formula that you've seen in a hundred road trip family movies. From the destruction of the vehicle to the ultra-annoying super happy father daughter duo, one half of which is Donny Osmond.

Normally, I love Donny Osmond, but his appearance was really over the top and filled with campy show tunes sung with his character's daughter. Albert the pig stole the show and added to the crazy antics that riddle the Porter's road trip.

There wasn't anything about this movie that really stood out. It was enjoyable to watch, and it helped this college grad appreciate her parents a little more. College Road Trip is rated G, so you can bring the whole family out for this one. I give this film 3 out of 5 caffeinated piglets.
