This movie is quite simply Sex and the City with the city being Miami instead of NY. The characters- the pacing- the situations. All are comparative in nature to the gals we are all familiar with.

That is not a bad thing and this film is unique enough in plot to stand on its own. But just be aware that the similarities are almost comical. The biggest difference of course is the Cuban-American ethnicity of the main character. She has two best friends and they pretty much just sit around and discuss their odd relationships. Sound familiar?

It does touch on many current female workplace concerns. The question of family over career is becoming more and more common on the screen and reflects the mind set of many ladder climbing lasses. I also like the idea that strong, powerful lawyers are no longer male roles or even white female roles. It is good to see filmmakers showing diversity of cultures in their scripts.

This movie will appeal to the Latin culture and probably even more so than the real SATC. It will certainly be more relatable. Guys will find this more than a beating to watch but for a girls night in or light fodder over a glass of wine it is probably worth the rental fee.

This film is unrated and safe for most red blooded women of any city.
